WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
Thank you for celebrating the Week of the Young Child with us! This annual celebration is hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers and families.
Though this week focuses on young children (birth-Grade 2), all of our students joined together to make it a special occasion. Our 3rd-5th graders hung posters around the community and gave a special drumming performance for our youngest students. At the ITC, highlights included Polka Dot Day, Music Appreciation Day, Tacky Tuesday, Rainbow Day and Pajamas & Pancakes on Friday. WNP students enjoyed many of the same, plus an author visit from Steve Light and a “T-shirts and Tattoos” party! At the Lower School, PreK-2nd graders also added Family Visiting Day, when students shared their classroom, Science and Spanish work with parents, and Friendship Friday when buddy classes met up to share a story, snack or friendship craft. It was a wonderful week, and reminded us that every day is a great day to celebrate the contributions of young children in our community!
